Every once in a while driving to my field sites I have to pull over, take a picture, and pinch myself that this is where I’m getting to work. The landscape here is really spectacular. Click on the link to see the picture at a larger size.

Amazed at how lush this scenery is. I expected more sand and limestone–quite a contrast to the coast, yes?
At the small scale, the photo looks just like an impressionist painting! It’s blurred around the edges but detailed, and the colors are soft. Seriously, are you sure Monet didn’t paint that?
